The Statewide Interoperable Communications Targeted Grant Program (SICG-Targeted) is a competitive grant program meant to enhance regionalization of statewide emergency communications by the development or expansion of shared core radio systems and Inter Radio Frequency (RF) Subsystem Interface (ISSI) connections, improve redundancy and resiliency of public safety radio systems and expand the coverage and frequency band capabilities of the National Interoperability Channels, using existing tower sites.
Grant funds may be requested for the following purposes:

Eligible applicants are counties within New York State and New York City. Only one application will be accepted from each county (counties submitting multiple applications will be disqualified). The five boroughs which comprise New York City [Bronx, Kings, Queens, New York and Richmond] must apply as a single entity.
Applications were to be submitted by June 11, 2025. A similar deadline is anticipated annually.
Up to $40,000,000 is available in 2025 (combined 2024 and 2025 funding). Individual award amounts vary, up to $3,000,000. Cost sharing/matching is not required. Project periods will extend four years.
