    Summary

    The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) is a federal, anti-poverty block grant which funds the operations of a state-administered network of local agencies. CSBG focuses on moving eligible individuals and families toward self-sufficiency. Eligibility is determined based on Federal Poverty Guidelines of 125% or below.

     

    History of Funding

    In FY15, Hillsborough County BOCC was awarded a total of $2,058,715 in CSBG funds.

    Additional Information

    Agencies receiving CSBG funding are required to have a Tripartite Board. These Boards:

    • Fully participate in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program to serve low-income communities
    • Are composed of one-third each:
      • Low-income individuals
      • Elected Officials or their representatives
      • Major groups and interests in the Community Served
