    The Jefferson County Tourism Development Grant program is designed to stimulate and encourage the development and/or expansion of tourist attractions within Jefferson County. This program intends to encourage development activities that will help the county attract visitors who will spend one or several nights within county borders.

    Examples of projects include cleaning public beaches; acquiring, furnishing, or maintaining public facilities; providing and maintaining public restrooms on or adjacent to beaches and beach access facilities; providing and maintaining litter containers on or adjacent to beaches or beach access facilities; and creating, renovating, promoting and maintaining parks adjacent to bays, rivers, and other navigable waterways if the county does not operate a public beach on the Gulf of Mexico.

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible nonprofit organizations can be 501c3, 501c6, or 501c4 corporations organized to promote tourism, to foster economic development, or to hold a festival or event. 

    Deadline Details

    The complete grant application needs to be received no later than 5:00pm on the first Friday in March and/or the first Friday in September, annually.

    Award Details

    The maximum amount awarded to any applicant is $5,000. Grants are awarded bi-annually. This program is a matching grant, meaning that the applicant must demonstrate the ability to match the total amount of grant funds received.
