The Chisholm Foundation is a charitable organization founded in 1960 by Alexander F. Chisholm, a businessman, philanthropist and churchman of Laurel, Mississippi. The mission of The Chisholm Foundation since inception has been to nurture and support meaningful endeavors in education, the arts, and religion.
The Foundation is particularly interested in new or demonstration projects which, if successful, can be continued and expanded with the help of additional financial supporters. Therefore the Foundation encourages applicants to seek matching gifts or challenge grants that can magnify Foundation funds.
The Chisholm Foundation has no specific application format. However, certain types of information are important in a complete application, including the following:
Applicants that have not previously submitted materials to the Foundation, or that seek a more immediate response, can also send an inquiry letter containing a brief outline of their proposal. This will enable the Directors to determine more quickly if there is an interest to pursue further.
Applications are to be submitted by March 1 and September 1, annually.
